ElizabethIn the Percy Jackson series, I love Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena because she always does the right decision. Last Stop On Market Street

Don’t you hate standing in the rain waiting for your bus to arrive? Yeah, that happens a lot. In fact, it happened to a young boy named CJ and his nana on their regular Sunday morning after church. Every time a car pass by, CJ always asks his nana, “Nana, how come we don’t have a car?” and his nana always answers a encouraging question. When a few kids aboard the bus, CJ sees that they have iPods and asks his nana why he doesn’t have one and his nana answers that they have music right in front of them, a guitar player playing a song.

Last Stop on Market Street      His nana told him to close his eyes and listen to the music, as told by a blind man and when he closed his eyes, he drifted away. Following the beat of the music, he lost track of time and the song was over. CJ gave a quarter to the guitar player and then his nana started to knit. When they go to their stop, the last stop on Market Street, CJ wondered why they went to a street that was so dirty. His nana answered that if you concentrate, you can see the beauty. After walking, they get to their destination…

This book recently won a Newbery medal and it indeed deserved it. This book made me wonder what would it be like if I didn’t had a car and if I would enjoy it or not. Last Stop On Market Street shows you that not owning a car has its own advantages in very unique ways that you have never thought of. You can find this book in the library.
