Holy is a girl who has been living in five foster homes over the last two years because her mom was addicted to heroin and died. She give up on everything and decides to run away, she is tired of being locked in the basement by her foster parents and of her foster father touching her like nothing is happening. Holy is is twelve, this means she is wiser and can escape from the cruelty. One of her teachers told her to keep a journal. With the help of that journal we will keep track of her adventure.
This book is full of adventure. This book will be great for someone who loves action, like jumping into trains snatching food, clothes from outside stands and breaking into houses. If you are a teacher who has an adventurous side you’ll love to read this book, it doesn’t have any inappropriate language so you can read this to your class, too.
if you like this book you will love “This is what we did” by Ann Dee Ellis.

The Fault in Our Stars
Written by John Green
This novel is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Hazel Grace Lancaster. Hazel is a cancer patient, she has thyroid cancer that spread to her lungs. She is forced by her parents to join a support group. Until later on, she doesn’t realize that joining the support was the best thing of her life because she meets a boy name Augustus Water, who she later on falls in love with. Augustus is an ex-basketball player. Why ex? Well, Augustus is an amputee, his osteosarcoma caused him to loose a leg. The title, The Fault in Our Stars, was inspired by a scene from Shakespeare. Cassius told Brutus, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings.”
According to an eighth grader, “I love The Fault in Our Stars because it’s such a romantic book but it’s not an ordinary romantic book. Did I mention that Gus and Hazel have cancer? They do and that is what makes it so special.”
– Abigail Rodriguez
If you love romantic books, this could be for you.
Digimon Tamers
About the book: Digimon Tamers is about three kids by the name of Rika, Henry, and our main character, Takato. Takato and the others are digimon fans, but when they meet real digimons, they all become digimon tamers. Now they need to take care of their partner, but taking care of a digimon is more difficult than taking care of a toddler. Anyways, the problem is that Rika thinks that digimons should fight. Henry think that digimons should not fight, but Takato is somewhere in the middle.
Heres a link to see a preview.
This manga is unique because it’s from a kind-of-popular series called “Digimon” and has a different art style than most manga you could find. The style of the manga is more like chibi than normal style.
Manga tip of the day! Also when reading manga remember that unlike comics you’re suppose to read it from right to left and not left to right. Like how this picture shows.
Readers: This book is for ages 10+

Fairy Idol Kanon
Kanon is a 4th grader and loves singing more than anything. But one day the fairy princess by the name of Alto meets Kanon, Alto decides to help Kanon to become an Idol. Now they take off to a cute adventure.
This book is good because like all the other manga I mention as you can see it has a very different art style and like what I said for Digimon Tamers, the art style is kind of like a chibi, except it’s bigger. Also for those that don’t know how a chibi looks like it looks like this:
