This February’s Reader of the Month are…

Fifth- Emily for reading a variety of genres and talking about it to her classmates

Sixth- Sarah for going on and on about her books while she is on book three on the Percy Jackson series, her classmates are still in book 1.

Sixth- Elizabeth for working her way through the Harry Potter series and reading very quick

Interviewer: So how are you today?

Elizabeth: I’m good. What about you?

Interviewer: Good. Let’s start with the questions. What was the most recent book you read? Tell us why you love it.

Elizabeth: Well, the most recent book I read was The Chamber of Secrets. I loved it because it felt like I was in the world of Harry Potter.

Interviewer: I know you have been reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief during class. How do you compare it with Harry Potter?

Elizabeth: Well, you can relate to them even though magic and Greek gods aren’t real.

Interviewer: Who is your favorite character in the Percy Jackson series and the Harry Potter series?

Elizabeth: In the Percy Jackson series, I love Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena because she always does the right decision. In the Harry Potter series, I love of course, Hermione Granger because she is similar to Annabeth Chase and usually is the one that saves Harry Potter from death as shown in many of the books.

Interviewer: You know there is gonna be a new Percy Jackson series. Any thoughts?

Elizabeth: I actually know about it and I’m very excited to read it. Though, I have to catch up in order to read the series.

Interviewer: Well, thats all. Thanks for the interview Elizabeth.

For November’s Readers of the Month are…..

PreK- Jashua: Jashua uses his Choice Time to read.  He likes reading by himself and with his teachers, who help him.  He is always actively engaged in his book!

5th Grade- Richard: Richard has been logging on to Storia regularly, an online library of thousands of digital books!

Library House caught up with Richard for an interview.

What is your favorite book and why?

Diary of the Wimpy Kid 6. Its good for me because some of it is of his life.

Who is your favorite author? What book did she/he write?

My favorite author is Jeff Kinney, author of Diary of the Wimpy Kid series.

If you could be a character from a book, who would it be and why?

Greg Heffley. He talks about his life to the readers and how it completely goes wrong. Looks like he loves to write.

What are you reading now?

The Dog Tags series.

What is on your ‘to read’ list?

All of the Dog Tags books.

“Harry Potter Series because it has a ton of mysteries and adventures and secrets and I like fiction.”

“James Dashner and he wrote the Maze Runner series”

” My favorite book were like the Junie B. Jones”

• If you could be a character from a book who would it be? And Why?

” A character I’ll be from a book it would be Hermione Granger from Harry Potter because she’s smart and she’s kind of brave and she has a little attitude to the boys.”

“I am reading the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”

Our featured reader for January is……..Gabriela from the seventh grade!

What is your favorite book and why?  Everyday By David Levithan because it doesn’t have a happy ending, and it tricked me into thinking that it did.

Who is your favorite author? What book did he/she write?  Becca Fitzpatrick and she wrote the series Hush Hush.

What was your favorite book from when you were little?  People have told me the story of the Three little pigs a lot of times.

If you could be a character from a book who would it be? And Why?  I would be Evaleign from the book Rejected by my Mate because she is part wolf, and because she has guys coming after her left and right.

What are you reading now?  I am reading Sleepless.
